Tiny Big Ideas
Updated: Jan 22, 2019

One of the loves in my life has always been the love of miniatures. Ever since I was a little girl playing with Barbie's, I loved the whole world of miniature things. Because of this, I started collecting and making my own miniatures several years ago, with the idea of creating a huge complex for my felted mice.
Since that time I have made quite a few things and began selling them in my miniatures shop on etsy, Farm 2 Market Miniature. The shop has been on hiatus the last year as I concentrated on metalsmithing. But it is about to be reopened as I start adding some new creations that are coming soon!
One of those creations will be my miniature wooden trencher bowls, as seen in the photo. These are handcarved wooden bowls that can be used for all kinds of purposes. In the days when trencher bowls were in most all households, they were used to mix dough (also called a dough bowl) and other things in the kitchen. It is usually a very large hand carved bowl. Then it became popular to use them as a center bowl for the table to hold fruits, breads and even decorative items. These bowls are one of my favorite primitives today and I love recreating them in miniature.
Another exciting plan I have for the miniatures shop are enameled bowls and miniature enamel paintings, incorporating the metalsmithing and enameling skills I've been working on the last few years.
Be looking for both these new items as well as some great "Misfit Remakes" coming soon to Farm 2 Market Miniatures!
I'm very excited to work on these projects this new year. Hope you'll enjoy seeing them come about too!
